About the position
The Field Service Technician II position at Motorola Solutions involves working closely with the U.S. Air Force to implement and integrate complex communication systems. The role requires hands-on execution of upgrades, migrations, and maintenance of Motorola ASTRO systems, ensuring effective communication solutions for the U.S. Federal Government. The technician will be responsible for both on-site and remote support, contributing to the overall success of communication projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site and remote upgrades and troubleshooting of Motorola ASTRO systems
- Assist in developing strategies for upgrades and migrations
- Execute integrations, migrations, and expansion plans
- Perform preventative maintenance and address break-fix occurrences
- Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting IP networks
- Administer and troubleshoot in an IT-type environment
- Communicate effectively with customers and subcontractors
- Utilize Microsoft Office products and Google Suite applications proficiently
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in IT, radio communications, systems administration, or related field
- Basic knowledge of networking, Cybersecurity principles, Active Directory Administration, and LMR Communications
- Demonstrated understanding of IP networks
- Ability to lift equipment of approximately 50lbs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite applications
- Strong self-management and interpersonal skills
Nice-to-haves
- Experience developing and executing Motorola ASTRO upgrades
- Knowledge of Motorola ASTRO core applications such as UNC, PM, UEM, ESXi, IMW, KMF, HBSS, and PKI
