About the position

The Field Service Technician II position at Motorola Solutions involves working closely with other technicians and engineers to support the U.S. Air Force's communications goals through technical upgrades and migrations. This hands-on role requires executing integrations and expansions, as well as assisting in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote upgrades and troubleshooting of Motorola ASTRO systems.
  • Assist in developing strategies for upgrades and migrations.
  • Execute integrations, migrations, and expansion plans in the field.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and address break-fix occurrences.
  • Collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams including sales, engineering, and project management.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Capable of obtaining a DOD secret clearance within 18 months of employment.
  • Must obtain CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification within the first 12 months.
  • Demonstrated understanding of IP networks.
  • Ability to administer and troubleshoot in an IT-type environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
  • At least 1 year of experience in IT, networking, field service, or related roles.
