About the position

The Field Service Technician for Industrial Weighing Products is responsible for performing calibration and preventative maintenance on industrial weighing equipment. This role involves working independently to ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets customer requirements, while also assisting with installations and repairs as needed. The technician is expected to maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues, promote services, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibrations and preventative maintenance on industrial weighing equipment according to company procedures.
  • Assist with installations, projects, and repairs as necessary.
  • Achieve assigned targets while controlling expenses.
  • Promote and sell services and products, submitting sales leads as appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Meet customer uptime requirements and complete work assignments on time.
  • Accurately complete and submit required paperwork daily using a company-issued laptop.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, sales, and technical teams.
  • Complete daily timekeeping accurately in Kronos.
  • Foster collaboration and teamwork with field and service support colleagues.
  • Comply with the Company Fleet policy.
  • Submit Weights & Measures paperwork to state/county in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • High School Diploma or GED or 5 years relevant experience in a technical support role.
  • Associate's degree with a technical major preferred.
  • Customer-facing or field service experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies.
  • 1 - 3 years electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and Weights and Measures license.
  • Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office products.
  • Capability to learn proprietary software and update information using company programs.
  • Ability to travel overnight, averaging 10% but could be as high as 25%.
  • Residence within the service territory.
  • Ability to work overtime, averaging 10 - 15% but could be as high as 25%.
  • Willingness to be exposed to work site hazards and wear protective equipment.
  • Proof of up-to-date vaccinations may be required for customer locations.
  • Subject to drug testing and DOT physical exam.
