About the position

Aegis is seeking a qualified candidate to join a client organization based in the Chicagoland area. This position is fully remote but requires significant travel (80%) to client sites on the West Coast. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude, with the ability to work independently after a training period.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites throughout the West Coast region of the US, requiring 80% travel.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repair on various equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints for assembly.
• Train for 2-3 months at Triangle before working independently at client sites.
• Handle high-pressure situations and present technical information effectively.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs; programming experience is a plus.
• Ability to work with voltages from 120v to 480v.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machinery assembly.
• Ability to read basic blueprints for motors and assemble them accordingly.
• Good presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

• B.S. or A.A.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of capital equipment, especially packaging equipment.
• Experience with baggers, weights, vertical form fill seal, or horizontal form fill seal machines.
• Knowledge of automation technologies, including conveyors and robots.
• PLC programming experience, either through certificates or hands-on experience.
