About the position
The Field Service Technician at Belimed Inc. is responsible for the installation, service, and maintenance of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization equipment in hospital settings. This role requires strong mechanical skills and excellent customer service, as technicians will travel to various sites within the St. Louis region to ensure optimal performance of Belimed products. The position includes extensive training and offers a home-based work environment with travel requirements.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using test instruments
- Measure and adjust digital and analog instrumentation using calibration equipment
- Install, modify and repair Belimed and/or 3rd party equipment
- Manage customer base effectively; prioritizing customer needs and balancing preventive maintenance (PM) workload with daily repairs
- Demonstrate correct usage and application of equipment to customers
- Conduct product in-service trainings as required
- Complete service reports, timesheets, expense reports and parts lists in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain an organized work vehicle with necessary tools, manuals and parts required to provide efficient repairs and installations
- Monitor customer chemical orders, contract sales and renewals
- Promote and maintain good customer relations through high standards of professionalism, ethical behavior, maturity and good judgment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience with industrial electrical single and 3-phase wiring and controls
- Experience troubleshooting water and pneumatic process controls
- Experience using diagnostic test equipment, volt-ohm meters, amp probes and precision temperature and pressure calibration equipment
- Ability to perform piping of copper, brass and stainless steel piping
- Ability to read and red-line P&ID and electrical schematics
- Moderate technical aptitude; general computer skills with the ability to communicate effectively via e-mail
- Ability to lift at least fifty pounds unassisted
- Ability to climb over and crawl under equipment
- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to maintain compliance of all credentialing requirements in order to access customer sites
