About the position

The Field Service Technician role involves diagnosing and repairing equipment malfunctions, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery. The technician will work primarily in the field, representing Equipment Depot while maintaining a professional image and adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders and observe equipment to diagnose problems.
  • Offer solutions to meet customer specifications and provide estimates when appropriate.
  • Make mechanical repairs to equipment after thorough inspection and analysis.
  • Record complete repair descriptions on work orders, including model and serial numbers.
  • Obtain customer signatures and communicate repair needs or completed work.
  • Examine safety devices on trucks and make necessary adjustments.
  • Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired trucks to verify specifications.
  • Maintain the professional image of self and cleanliness of the service van.
  • Track and schedule routine maintenance for the service van with the operations or service manager.
  • Return paperwork to the field service coordinator daily, including work orders and receipts.
  • Submit time cards by 9:00 a.m. daily.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as a Field Service Technician (preferred).
  • 4 years of experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and mechanical systems (preferred).
