About the position

The position involves providing onsite service and preventative maintenance for point of sale products, security systems, and wireless systems across assigned territories. The role requires keeping up to date with product knowledge and specifications, offering feedback to management, and ensuring a safe work environment through proper tool and equipment usage.

Responsibilities

• Visit customer sites to resolve technical issues as required.
• Assist in the resolution of issues and participate in team resolution of non-routine or significant issues.
• Test equipment and software changes remotely or at customer sites.
• Report equipment quality or programming issues to management teams.
• Prepare required sections of work orders, check lists, documentation, and record progress, status, and resolution solutions.
• Train new customers in basic operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensure the design and delivery of technical training meets the needs of customers.
• Continuously improve training materials and delivery, providing feedback on equipment operation to management team.
• Keep up to date on changing product technology through the review of technical and service manuals, making internet inquiries, and participating in required training.
• Ensure equipment required for service or preventative maintenance are in good repair and stored safely.
• Request new equipment when lost or worn.
• Request defective or worn equipment to be scrapped and prepare required documentation.
• Maintain equipment logs as necessary.

Requirements

• Experience with cash registers, installation, and training.
• Ability to install drive-thru headsets and timers.
• Experience in providing software support over the phone for Canada and the US.
• Strong customer service skills, especially in person.
• Flexibility to work remotely and on-site as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• A+ or N+ certification is a plus but not mandatory.
