About the position

The Field Services Business Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in providing program guidance and direction to business units within the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services. This position focuses on improving workflow and operating efficiency through systems analysis and development, while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The specialist will manage schedules, procure supplies, and assist with grants and special projects, acting as the office manager for the division.

Responsibilities

• Provide program guidance and direction to business units regarding business and life-cycle acquisition processes.
• Perform systems analysis and development tasks to improve workflow and operating efficiency.
• Make recommendations to standardize procedures and processes and to introduce or improve technology.
• Analyze costs of existing operations and prepare cost/benefit analyses of recommended changes.
• Maintain multiple schedules for department activities.
• Coordinate with the Administrative Services Department to procure supplies, materials, and travel.
• Assist the division with grants and special projects to monitor and track expenditures and deliverables/outcomes.
• Act as office manager for the division.

Requirements

• Experience in business operations and program management.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations related to business operations.
• Strong analytical skills to perform cost/benefit analysis and systems analysis.
• Ability to coordinate multiple schedules and manage office operations.
