About the position

The Field Service Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating field service operations, acting as the primary point of contact between clients and field technicians. This role involves ensuring timely service delivery, maintaining accurate records, and effectively communicating with clients to determine the appropriate scope of work.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and prioritize customer service requests, accurately logging details into the system.
  • Determine field service scope of work in consultation with Engineering Support as required.
  • Generate job cost estimates based on scope of work.
  • Coordinate for required personnel and material to perform scope of work.
  • Schedule onsite field service, communicating estimated arrival and completion to the client.
  • Monitor technicians' schedules and re-dispatch as needed to optimize efficiency.
  • Ensure technicians have the necessary information, parts, and materials to complete each job task on site.
  • Ensure that safe work practices are being followed at project sites.
  • Generate a report to the client upon completion of each job task.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a field-focused technical or engineering role; preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Valid Canadian or U.S. driver's license and passport, with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong decision-making skills to determine project guidelines, timelines, and completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear and effective communication with customers, field technicians and/or sub-contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, in an industrial environment.
  • Field-based project management or coordination experience is considered an asset.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish and/or French considered an asset.
  • Understanding of the fiberglass reinforced plastic industry will be considered an asset.
