About the position

We are seeking an innovative, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our organization as the Field Services Manager on a full-time capacity. Largo Clean Energy (LCE), a subsidiary of Largo Inc., headquartered in Wilmington, MA and working to become a leader in long-duration energy storage. The company's VCHARGE battery system uses patented battery technology and proprietary vanadium electrolyte processing to provide customers with safe, efficient, low-cost, and long-lasting, long-duration energy storage. The parent company, Largo Inc., is an industry leader in global vanadium supply with operations in Brazil and corporate headquarters in Toronto, Canada. The Field Services Manager will be supporting the client from start to finish on the implementation of the battery system, including briefing the client about the technology, project management, integration, and implementation. Overall, the Field Services Manager will lead or coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management and troubleshooting of existing projects; and ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Field Services team and associated subcontractors for current and new VCharge battery deployments including technology, project management, integration, and implementation
• Install, Troubleshoot, Commission, Maintain, and Repair Largo's proprietary vanadium redox flow battery system
• Manage & Execute unique process of recovering of electrolyte during commissioning and decommissioning of Largo's proprietary vanadium redox flow battery system, VCharge
• Work cross functionally internally across all technical disciplines of the system (electrical, software, chemical, civil, environmental, mechanical, and safety)
• Oversee the development and implementing all installation procedures and related specific documentation
• Develop and execute mobilization plans and checklists to ensure all necessary parts and equipment are available at site
• Lead specific Quality Control inspections of received product components at site and update asset records
• Ensure coordination with site contractors performing civil/electrical construction, crane operations, electrical installation, pipefitting, etc. to ensure safety and prevent delays
• Oversee mechanical assembly of system piping, access stairs, and other equipment related to battery installation
• Electronic circuit trouble shooting and testing of Largo's proprietary flow battery system
• Manage complete I/O checks, leak checks, sensor calibrations, and installation checklists
• Ensure setup of environmental spill protection and personnel safety equipment associated with pumping battery electrolyte from shipping containers into system storage tanks
• Maintain clean, safe, and secure work site
• Develop and execute demobilization plans
• Document technical issues and solutions, as well as maintenance and service procedures

Requirements

• Post-Secondary education preferred but not required, preferably in an Engineering discipline
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management and field implementation is required, preferably within the electrical industry
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in a Field Leadership Role
• Ability to read, interpret, and update civil, electrical, and mechanical drawings
• Must either have or be willing to be trained on: First Aid / CPR / AED Certified, OSHA 40, Fall Protection Training, Confined Space Training, NFPA 70e Certified, Respirator Protection, Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Trained, Hazardous Communication (HAZCOM) Trained
