About the position

The Field Supervisor at Airtron is responsible for overseeing subcontractors and employees involved in the installation of residential HVAC equipment. This role ensures that all work meets builder specifications and conducts quality control checks on completed installations. The supervisor also performs service, maintenance, and installation work as needed, working under the direction of the General Manager or Production Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises subcontractors and employees installing residential HVAC equipment.
  • Conducts quality-control checks on completed work to ensure it meets builder needs.
  • Coordinates installation dates with the scheduling team and verifies job readiness.
  • Checks jobs by phase to ensure completion of work by subcontractor installation crews.
  • Coordinates with subcontractors and office regarding punch lists or repairs as needed.
  • Reviews and approves subcontractor invoices after work is completed per phase.
  • Schedules inspections with local jurisdictions as necessary.
  • Coordinates and completes paperwork for billable change orders found in the field.
  • Meets with builder supervisors on job sites to resolve installation or design issues.
  • Manages production-related issues with homebuilders in the assigned area.
  • Builds rapport and fosters long-term relationships with builder superintendents.
  • Ensures employees attend all required training and seeks ways to improve results and effectiveness.
  • Provides regular performance updates and recommendations to senior management.
  • Addresses performance issues with constructive feedback and consequences if standards are not met.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of HVAC installation experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Beginner to intermediate computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years' experience as a field supervisor in residential new construction or related experience.
  • Multi-family HVAC installation experience.
  • Completed college coursework.
