About the position

The Field Support Specialist position at TriWest Healthcare Alliance is designed to support military treatment facilities (MTFs) by providing non-clinical assistance to TRICARE beneficiaries. The role involves working closely with MTF staff to facilitate patient referrals, authorizations, and outreach to network providers. The specialist will also conduct educational briefings and assist with contingency planning for MTF exercises. This position requires US citizenship and a favorable DOD background investigation, and it emphasizes a commitment to serving military personnel and their families.

Responsibilities

• Support internal staff of military treatment facilities (MTFs) and TRICARE beneficiaries.
• Provide non-clinical support for patient referrals and authorizations.
• Conduct outreach to network providers as necessary.
• Facilitate support for resolving network gaps and customer service requests.
• Provide TRICARE educational briefings upon request.
• Assist with contingency exercises or actual scenarios for MTFs.
• Monitor issues for trends and opportunities to improve services.
• Review and facilitate resolution of referral and authorization issues.
• Document and record performance of educational briefings for reporting purposes.
• Maintain knowledge of Managed Care Support Contract and TRICARE Operations Manual.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• 2+ years of experience in TRICARE customer service and administrative support.
• Demonstrated success in a highly matrixed organizational environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in health-related studies preferred.
• Experience as a TRICARE Beneficiary Counseling and Assistance Coordinator (BCAC).
• Experience working in MTF TRICARE business operations.
