About the position

The Field Support Specialist position at TriWest Healthcare Alliance is designed to provide essential support to military treatment facilities (MTFs) and their staff, ensuring effective communication and assistance for TRICARE beneficiaries. The role involves non-clinical support for patient referrals and authorizations, outreach to network providers, and collaboration with various TriWest departments to resolve issues and improve service delivery. The specialist will also conduct educational briefings and assist in contingency planning for MTF exercises.

Responsibilities

• Support internal staff of military treatment facilities (MTFs) and TRICARE beneficiaries.
• Provide non-clinical support for patient referrals and authorizations.
• Outreach to network providers as necessary.
• Facilitate support for resolving network gaps and customer service requests.
• Conduct TRICARE educational briefings upon request.
• Assist the Regional Director with MTF contingency exercises or scenarios.
• Monitor issues for trends and opportunities to improve services.
• Review and facilitate resolution of referral and authorization issues.
• Document and record performance of educational briefings for contract reporting.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant contracts and policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• 2 or more years of experience in TRICARE Program customer service and administrative support.
• Ability to receive a favorable Department of Defense background investigation.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in health-related studies (Health Administration, Health Policy, etc.).
• Experience as a TRICARE Beneficiary Counseling and Assistance Coordinator (BCAC).
• Experience working in MTF TRICARE business operations.
