About the position
The Environmental Field Technician position at Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) involves supporting fieldwork activities related to environmental monitoring, site assessment, remediation, and construction. The role requires executing, supervising, and documenting various field tasks, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, and maintaining equipment. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic who are detail-oriented and enjoy outdoor work.
Responsibilities
- Execute, supervise, and document field aspects of environmental monitoring, site assessment, remediation, and construction activities.
- Perform soil and groundwater sampling activities and assist with remedial system operation and maintenance.
- Complete well development activities and maintain equipment calibration logs.
- Record field notes specific to tasks performed at each site location.
- Handle general warehouse and maintenance duties, including performing labor and construction duties based on project requirements.
- Supervise contractors on subsurface excavations, tank removals, and equipment and piping installations.
- Follow GES engineering, construction, and O&M policies and procedures.
- Adhere to GES Health & Safety Standards in all field-related activities.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 0-4+ years of related fieldwork experience.
- Mechanical aptitude is required.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus, and training will be provided if not yet earned.
