About the position

The Field Technical Support Engineer (TSE) role at KLA involves providing advanced technical support for semiconductor inspection equipment. TSEs are responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex issues that first-line support cannot address, requiring a deep understanding of system operations. The position includes collaboration with engineering teams, documentation of problem-solving processes, and training personnel. Additionally, TSEs may participate in new product development and continuous improvement projects, ensuring high performance and reliability of KLA's products.

Responsibilities

• Independently respond to complex technical issues that first-line support cannot resolve.
• Consult with engineering teams for deeper technical understanding when necessary.
• Document problem-solving processes and technical findings to generate reports.
• Report design, reliability, and maintenance problems to engineering or manufacturing organizations.
• Detail system problems and collaborate on Continuous Improvement Projects (CIPs).
• Train KLA personnel and develop training materials.
• Develop and detail new procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs).
• Install new systems or upgrade existing ones.

Requirements

• Five years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in system-level equipment troubleshooting, including mechanical, electrical, and optical systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or inspection technologies.
• Familiarity with optics, image processing, and motion control.
