About the position
The Entry Level Field Technician I at Intertek is responsible for performing various testing and site assessment duties in the construction materials testing sector. This role offers an opportunity to develop a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry, working under general supervision and following detailed procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (e.g., soil, concrete) and provide assessment of data through reporting.
- Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
- Perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results.
- Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
Requirements
- Some experience in the construction industry.
- Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
- Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make discriminations in sound.
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
- Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights.
Nice-to-haves
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of construction materials testing experience.
- ACI Certification.
