About the position

The Field Technician role at Honest Networks involves installing internet services for residential customers in Newark and Philadelphia. Technicians will work independently in a fast-paced environment, performing multiple installations daily while ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. The position requires technical skills in cabling and troubleshooting, as well as strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install internet service for customers in residential apartment units.
• Terminate, test, and troubleshoot various cabling (copper and fiber).
• Run cable/ethernet throughout multi-dwelling unit (MDU) apartments.
• Respond to and troubleshoot network issues.
• Operate OTDR, Light Meter, VFL, and other fiber equipment/tools as needed.
• Set up and configure routers and optimize Wi-Fi.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of Fiber Optic or similar cabling experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders/prints/scopes.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces (basements, electrical closets, shaftways, etc.).
• Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Flexible working schedule.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with mass transit for commuting to job sites.
• Strong technical competency and eagerness to learn.
