About the position

The Field Technician role at Verizon involves working with telecommunications technology to connect, maintain, and repair equipment that supports the company's network. This position is essential for ensuring reliable service and involves both technical skills and physical labor, including working with various tools and equipment in different environments.

Responsibilities

• Connecting, disconnecting, testing, repairing, and maintaining company and customer-provided equipment.
• Operating trucks and equipment safely during work operations.
• Installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing access lines for various types of equipment and technology.
• Performing construction work, including digging holes, placing poles, and laying cable/conduit in the ground.
• Reading and interpreting engineering plans and vendor specifications.
• Climbing ladders and working aloft, while perceiving differences in wire and cable colors.
• Moving and lifting items generally not exceeding 1 lbs.
• Working evenings, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled shifts as needed.

Requirements

• Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• CDL or the ability to obtain one.

Nice-to-haves

• A related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience.
