The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Communications Hardware Engineer - Fighters, in Berkeley, MO.

Responsibilities

• Communication systems design, integration, and analysis for fighter platforms
• Works with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
• Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
• Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
• Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
• Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
• Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• Experience with military avionics technology, specifically radios and communication systems
• Experience in requirements development, avionics hardware design & integration, subsystem/system/flight test, system verification, & production/fielding
• 5+ years of experience leading or working similar projects or teams with a Bachelor's OR 3+ years with a Masters

Nice-to-haves

• Tactical Fighters platform knowledge
• Technical problem investigation and resolution experience at platform integration level
• Subsystem functional and integration test procedure development and execution
• Strong technical coordination skills between Boeing teams and outside suppliers
• Knowledge of crypto loading and COMSEC approval processes
• Experience with antenna integration, including switching logic and beam pointing
• Experience with VHF/UHF and SATCOM
• Experience developing platform/subsystem ICDs, supplier SOWs, and technical platform/subsystem specifications and requirements
• Familiarity with Agile Development Process
