About The Position

Weyerhaeuser Longview Lumber is seeking a Journey Level Saw Filer to join their team in Longview, Washington. This role involves working with saws, performing maintenance, and ensuring safety in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be part of a bargaining unit and must be willing to work multiple shifts, including nights and weekends. Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of four years journey filing experience in a sawmill environment.
• Understanding of internal quality control and machine alignment procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership in mill safety processes.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to rapid process changes.
• Commitment to safety values and producing quality work.
• Experience with CNC equipment and basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to CNC equipment and computer skills is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fitting round and band saws.
• Using filing shop equipment for calibration and maintenance.
• Performing hard tipped welding (alloy) and carbide tipping.
• Tensioning and leveling round saws and band saws.
• Assisting with saw change service operations.
• Conducting preventative maintenance, including inspecting equipment for wear and damage.
• Understanding planned and preventative maintenance processes.
