About The Position

The Filler Operator III is responsible for ensuring the quality of products by completing the approved training matrix and on-the-job training conducted by the Filler Operator I. This role involves operating hot pouch forming and filling machines, monitoring and tracking fill weights, temperatures, and pouch codes. The operator supports the review, understanding, and compliance of all programs, policies, and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Food processing experience in a technically advanced facility preferred.
  • Ability to function with minimal supervision and follow processing CIP/COP/GMP and sanitation procedures.
  • Operator must be able to speak and write English.
  • Basic math skills and process equipment problem-solving aptitude.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate a forklift.
  • Computer literate using Word, Excel, and procedure templates.
  • Good writing skills and aptitude for detailed documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Follows approved procedures while operating machines that form and fill hot pouches, ensuring pouch quality based on specifications.
  • Sets up and adjusts equipment including check weigher equipment, metal detectors, and temperature control devices while in operation and inputs data into the computer.
  • Responsible for learning all other filler operators and break reliefs in the filling process, including material handling, material tracking, filling, and documentation procedures.
  • Completes start-up sheets for all products and ensures accuracy.
  • Monitors and performs CIP/COP/GMP's of the filling room and all associated areas.
  • Must be willing to move between shifts to evaluate the effectiveness of training and ensure procedures are followed.
  • Performs dye tests on pouches once an hour to check seal integrity.
  • Changes 150 lb. film rolls while eliminating waste of film using a forklift and lift car safely.
  • Follows machine operation manuals to perform preventative maintenance on product handling machinery.
  • Reads and follows approved procedures to enhance the filling operation.
  • Completes production, quality, and sanitation paperwork.
  • Performs other duties as needed or assigned by superior.
