About the position

As a FinOps Practitioner & Business Operations Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in transforming financial operations through technology. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a financial operations model that aligns with client needs while leveraging cloud capabilities. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud optimization solutions, particularly in Azure and AWS environments, to address complex challenges faced by clients. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to establish best practices in cost management and optimization, ensuring that cloud usage is both efficient and cost-effective. In this role, you will act as a digital transformation architect, leading initiatives to enhance cloud operations. This includes implementing an enterprise allocation strategy and FinOps best practices to quantify business value and optimize cloud costs. You will work closely with business units and data domains to design and optimize cloud operations, thereby expanding the cloud footprint and enhancing delivery for the Department of Defense (DoD). Your expertise will be crucial in establishing the necessary infrastructure and processes to support these initiatives, and you will have opportunities to learn new tools and skills as part of a collaborative team. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a financial operations model that meets client needs.
  • Create cloud-optimization solutions to address client challenges.
  • Transform Azure or AWS cloud operations by implementing an enterprise allocation strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand cloud usage and quantify business value.
  • Establish best practices for cost model management and optimization for cloud usage and costs.
  • Design and optimize cloud operations in partnership with business units and data domains.
  • Expand the cloud footprint and establish necessary infrastructure for cloud operations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions, including FinOps or cost management.
  • Experience developing and implementing best practices for cost model management and optimization for cloud usage and cost.
  • Knowledge of cloud architectures, services, and pricing models.
  • Knowledge of Azure and AWS services and architecture.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Top Secret clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • FinOps Certifications such as Certified FinOps Practitioner Certification.

  • Experience improving processes and efficiencies in data and team management.

  • Cloud Computing Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification.
  • DoD Directive 8570 or 8140 Series IAT Level II Certification.
