About the position

The Final Avionics Technician A at Textron Aviation is responsible for functional testing and repairing electrical, electronic, and communication systems during the final assembly of production aircraft. This role involves working with various systems and components, ensuring quality and compliance with engineering specifications and shop practices.

Responsibilities

  • Functional test a variety of standard and optional electrical and electronic systems under minimum supervision.
  • Remove or install components and wiring for systems such as radios, altimeters, transponders, autopilots, automatic direction finders, and weather radar.
  • Load system software and databases and configure as required.
  • Use standard test equipment such as resistance and capacitance units, field strength meters, volt-ohmmeters, ammeter, and oscilloscope for functional testing.
  • Adjust or restore systems to proper operation using a variety of hand tools according to accepted shop procedures, engineering, and inspection requirements.
  • Guide or assist 3-5 employees with troubleshooting to resolution of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Responsible for the quality of own work.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification required.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles and use of test equipment is essential.
  • Ability to interpret schematic drawings, blueprints, and specifications is required.
  • At least one year of formal training in fundamental electricity and electronics preferred.
  • 3-5 years of diversified aircraft experience including wire bundle routing and installation is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand schematic drawings and basic electrical fundamentals, and use of multimeters.
