About the position

The Finance & Accounting Analyst 1 position at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is responsible for supporting the financial processes related to clinical trial budgets. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure accurate budget development, negotiation, and compliance, ultimately contributing to the financial foundation of clinical research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collect data and work on varied phases of financial processes and analysis relating to clinical trial budgets.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, examining estimates and proposals for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure financial compliance and reporting to outside entities with limited complexity.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between OHSU and external vendors.
  • Collaborate with clinical research managers and investigators to develop comprehensive billing schedules and internal budgets.
  • Document and track versions, changes, and communications related to billing schedules.
  • Collaborate with investigators and study teams for feasibility analysis and budget review.
  • Develop and manage finance data entry in OHSU's CRMS and eCRIS.
  • Conduct process reviews and recommend improvements for financial management policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 18 hours of accounting courses.
  • 1 year of professional healthcare and/or relevant financial analysis experience.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet applications and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in clinical research pre-award finance.
  • Knowledge or experience working in oncology or a clinical/research environment.
  • Experience with OHSU Financial systems, eCRIS, EPIC.
  • Highly skilled in MS Excel and MS Access.
