About the position

The Finance & Accounting Analyst at FranklinCovey plays a crucial role in the Education Division, focusing on financial management, budgeting, data analysis, and reporting. This position is essential for driving business growth and ensuring the financial success of the division through collaboration with senior leaders and implementing process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial planning strategies, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
• Assist with month-end accounting close, including journal entries, monthly accruals, account reconciliations, and audits.
• Prepare variance analysis of operational results and identify issues and opportunities to improve profitability.
• Assist with preparation and submission of annual budget and weekly forecast.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and dashboards with key metrics for sales teams.
• Review and approve employee expenses ensuring adherence to company policy.
• Prepare incentive and commission calculations, and monthly accruals related to incentives.
• Mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Perform additional financial analysis for special or ad-hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting.
• 2+ years of finance and accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge/experience with information systems.
• Exceptional understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience with analyzing and reconciling large financial data sets.
• Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• In-depth understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and financial management software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
