About the position

The Finance and Accounting Manager at UrbanFootprint will play a crucial role in driving decision-making and managing key business operations. This position offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to partner closely with the CEO and senior leaders, providing exposure to all aspects of the business. The role is designed for a candidate looking to advance to a VP Finance or Head of Finance position, overseeing accounting, financial reporting, payroll, and compliance, while also contributing to financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and investor relations.

Responsibilities

• Perform full cycle accounting and month-end close, including transaction entry, reconciliations, and posting journal entries.
• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes to support efficient financial operations.
• Provide expertise in applying ASC 606 and other technical accounting relevant to a SaaS company.
• Prepare financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist the CEO with forecasting, budgeting, and scenario modeling.
• Support the development and implementation of financial KPIs.
• Collaborate with the CEO on commission plans, annual bonuses, and compensation adjustments.
• Work with the CEO and legal counsel on customer and vendor contracting.
• Process payroll through the PEO and manage onboarding and offboarding of employees.
• Address non-income tax compliance and tax filings with the support of PEO and tax CPAs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Demonstrated technical accounting knowledge applicable to a SaaS company.
• Experience operating with a high degree of autonomy, ideally in a VC-backed start-up.
• Strong interest or experience in FP&A and financial modeling.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
