About the position

The Finance Accounting Manager position at our Luxury Casino Resort in Northwest Washington State is a pivotal role that combines financial oversight with leadership responsibilities. This position is designed for an experienced accounting professional who is adept at managing financial operations within a dynamic and regulated environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising accounting personnel, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, and preparing financial statements and reports. This role also involves overseeing payroll processes, managing tax filings, and ensuring compliance with gaming regulations. The Finance Accounting Manager will work closely with the Director of Finance and will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of financial operations while fostering a culture of excellence and customer service within the accounting department. In this role, you will supervise accounting staff, providing mentorship and development opportunities while defining essential job functions and responsibilities. You will be responsible for the month-end closing process, monthly account reconciliations, revenue audits, and general ledger postings. Additionally, you will ensure the accuracy of Title 31 compliance and act as a liaison for outside gaming and financial auditors. Your commitment to outstanding customer service will be essential as you interact with both internal and external stakeholders. The position also requires a proactive approach to establishing and implementing departmental policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial statement preparation, federal and state tax filing, and supervisory experience. You will be expected to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a keen attention to detail. Responsibilities

  • Supervise accounting personnel, including mentoring and staff development.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data, including month-end closing and reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports, assisting the Director of Finance as required.
  • Oversee payroll processes and procedures, with cross-training to support payroll functions.
  • Manage periodic federal and state tax filings, including Forms 941, W2-G, 1042-S, 945, W-2, and 1099.
  • Supervise accuracy and timeliness of Title 31 compliance.
  • Verify all gaming and financial audits and act as a liaison for outside auditors.
  • Establish and implement departmental policies and procedures.
  • Review daily financial reports to certify accuracy.
  • Manage and supervise the Soft Count Department.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting work experience required.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with accounting and payroll software; Kronos and Microsoft Navision experience is a plus.
  • Experience with POS and slot systems for revenue auditing and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from guests and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and work with statistical concepts.
  • Ability to identify problems and formulate solutions.
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment.
