About the position

The Finance Analyst at CentraCare Health plays a crucial role in performing financial analysis to support managerial decision-making and performance monitoring. This position involves reviewing and interpreting financial data, preparing financial projections, and identifying opportunities for financial performance improvement. The analyst will collaborate closely with finance and leadership staff to provide insights that drive business initiatives and economic evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed financial review and analysis of monthly performance for assigned CCH entities.
  • Identify financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management.
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
  • Participate in various work groups to develop, implement, modify, and document financial performance improvement.
  • Utilize reports using management reporting, financial planning, and decision support databases for performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide support to leadership in the use of financial systems and interpreting financial reports.
  • Gather data, perform analysis, and present reports to various audiences.
  • Produce summaries that provide concise information for use in decision making.
  • Provide recommendations for changes on processes or practices that optimize efficiencies and/or reduce the total cost of delivering health care services.
  • Assist in the annual and long-range business planning process in coordination with Operations Leadership and the CentraCare Health Planning department.
  • Identify financial performance opportunities and work collaboratively with leadership to monitor and achieve improvement results.
  • Develop and analyze financial aspects of assigned new business ventures.
  • Analyze acquisitions and affiliations opportunities, coordinating the due diligence process and managing financial aspects from start to closing.
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing publications.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree in Finance or Accounting field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare experience is required.
  • Experience with spreadsheet functions, planning, and report writing software.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial analytics processes and a strong background in analytic techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills required.
  • Ability to perform and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently in an environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and exceptional organizational skills.
