The Finance and Accounting Analyst 2 position at OHSU Finance is designed to provide professional accounting and financial services, focusing on financial analysis, budgeting, compliance, and reporting. This role emphasizes problem-solving and analytical skills, requiring the analyst to work with minimal supervision while handling a wide range of financial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to prepare annual budgets and review financial data sets.
• Submit invoices to outside institutions and prepare financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Run ad hoc queries to analyze financial data and ensure compliance with OHSU and external policies.
• Develop and recommend policies and procedures for financial operations, proposing necessary changes and improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience.
• 36 hours of accounting courses or an accounting degree demonstrating proficiency in GAAP principles.
• Prior experience in an Academic Health Center or relevant financial analysis related to operational improvements.
• Highly proficient in PC use, including database and spreadsheet applications.
• Intermediate spreadsheet skills, including complex functions and formulas.
• Experience with relational databases and understanding of financial reporting concepts.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Oracle Financial Applications and Microsoft Suite.
