About the position

The Finance and Accounting Analyst 2 position at Oregon Health & Science University involves conducting financial analysis, variance analysis, and budgeting/planning. The role requires monthly data entry, preparation of annual budgets, and review of financial data sets. The analyst will also handle financial transactions, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with policies while developing and recommending improvements to existing processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial analysis and variance analysis to support budgeting and planning activities.
• Prepare annual budgets and review financial data sets for accuracy and compliance.
• Submit invoices to outside institutions and prepare necessary financial reports and proformas.
• Run ad hoc queries to analyze financial data and ensure compliance with OHSU policies and external regulations.
• Develop and recommend policies and procedures for financial processes and improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible relevant work experience in finance or accounting.
• 36 hours of accounting courses or an accounting degree demonstrating proficiency in GAAP principles.
• Prior experience in an Academic Health Center or relevant financial analysis experience.
• Highly proficient in PC use, including database and spreadsheet applications.
• Intermediate spreadsheet skills, including complex functions and formulas.
• Experience with relational databases and understanding of financial reporting concepts.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Oracle Financial Applications and Microsoft Suite.
