About the position

The Senior Finance and Accounting Analyst position at the School of Medicine's Dean's Office involves preparing, reviewing, and analyzing departmental budgets, providing financial summaries, and collaborating with healthcare partners on significant funding projections. The role requires performing complex financial analyses and ensuring accurate account reconciliations while supporting various departmental processes as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and analyze department budgets for the School of Medicine.
  • Provide monthly financial summaries and operational reports for the School and departments as needed.
  • Work closely with MU Healthcare partners to report and project annual Hospital funding of +$125M.
  • Partner with School of Medicine clinical departments on clinical budgeting and projections.
  • Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported in the various MU systems including healthcare, education, and research.
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure the proper placement of expenses.
  • Research and analyze information and use standard practices to make informed judgments and recommendations.
  • Exchange ideas and information, ask questions, and ensure parties/audiences understand the message.
  • Act as a back-up on various Dean's Office department processes as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
