About the position

The Finance and Administrative Director at Domestic Violence Shelter and Services (DVSS) plays a crucial role in managing the agency's financial operations. This position involves overseeing finance, payroll, benefits, taxes, bank reconciliation, receivables, payables, and reporting, while also supervising office staff. The Director will collaborate with the executive director and the board to ensure compliance and maintain robust financial practices within the organization, which is dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance of agency financials, including grant accounting.
• Process payroll, benefits, taxes, bank reconciliation, receivables, and payables.
• Assist in developing agency budgets and support financial audits.
• Work with the executive director and Board of Directors to ensure proper submission of taxes and financial reports.
• Supervise administrative staff and ensure effective office operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, or related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial grant management.
• Proficient in Quickbooks or similar accounting software.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Supervisory and leadership ability.
• Ability to manage details, employ flexibility, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Experience with non-profit finance/accounting.
• Proficient in Quickbooks Nonprofit or Pro.
• Understanding of nonprofit accounting and grants management.
• Experience in management, budget development, and implementation.
