About the position

Siemens Mobility US is seeking aspiring finance talents for a 10-12 week internship in the Finance and Performance Management department. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the financial planning, reporting, and controlling processes that are essential for steering Mobility's complex North American business. Interns will be immersed in the workings of the department, learning how financial integrity and performance management contribute to the overall success of the organization. The role is designed for highly energetic and motivated students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance or a related field, and who are eager to explore the opportunities within the rail industry. During the internship, participants will engage in various activities that will enhance their understanding of financial operations. They will learn about the monthly forecasting and reporting processes, work alongside experienced financial experts, and gain practical knowledge through shadowing and relevant tasks. Interns will interface with different areas within the Finance and Performance Management department, fostering collaboration and teamwork. Key activities will include Project Performance Reviews, Data Handling and Analytics, Report Aggregation and Presentations, and Financial Close Support, among others. This internship is not only a chance to learn about finance but also to understand how these financial processes support the broader goals of Siemens Mobility. Siemens Mobility is dedicated to providing efficient transportation solutions by rail, including rolling stock, rail automation, and electrification. The Finance and Performance Management department plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organization maintains financial integrity and fosters trust in its capabilities. Responsibilities

  • Learn about our monthly forecast and reporting processes
  • Work with experienced financial experts to learn about financial integrity and KPI analysis
  • Interface with different areas of the Finance and Performance Management department
  • Gain insight into Project Performance Reviews, Data Handling and Analytics, Report Aggregation and Presentations, and Financial Close Support

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Business Administration / Finance or similar from an accredited college or university
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required
  • Must reside or go to school near internship location Manhattan (New York)

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Previous internship experience or relevant school projects
  • Strong communication skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to work on a team
  • Interest in learning about finance and the rail industry

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range of $22 - $26 per hour
