The Finance Application Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of finance applications, ensuring that they function optimally and meet the needs of the business. This role involves communicating any changes or enhancements to the applications and troubleshooting any problems that arise. The manager will need to understand and interpret operational objectives and business user requirements to effectively build, enhance, and support the functionality of the systems in use. Collaboration with internal departments and staff is crucial to enhance the end-user experience with the applications. In addition to managing the applications, the Finance Application Manager will be responsible for reviewing and maintaining current and accurate operational data within existing systems. This includes assisting with the testing and implementation of new systems as they are developed. The role requires a proactive approach to improving systems by studying their capabilities, communicating with end users, identifying problems, and recommending workable solutions or design modifications. The manager will also be tasked with creating, writing, and reviewing code for applications, managing application requirements such as database needs, system enhancements, and security measures. Coordination of external system support will be necessary, which includes outlining specific requests and ensuring adherence to agreed-upon timelines. The role supports operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats. Additionally, the Finance Application Manager will develop policies and technical processes to implement, manage, and evaluate the applications, maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures, and provide data and reports on an ad hoc basis to internal staff. Conducting application training for colleagues is also a key responsibility.
