About the position
The Audit Clerk at Valley View Casino & Hotel is responsible for accurately recording daily audit totals to ensure smooth operations within the Revenue Accounting Department. This entry-level position requires adherence to established guidelines and involves working under immediate supervision. The role emphasizes maintaining positive guest relations and resolving discrepancies in revenue audits while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Accurately record daily audit totals in a timely manner.
- Maintain positive guest relations and resolve guest complaints.
- Greet guests courteously and provide personalized service.
- Identify and investigate abnormal findings to resolve revenue audit discrepancies.
- Prepare journal entries and track coupons used on property.
- Sort and record complimentary receipts.
- Reconcile accounts regularly.
- Monitor financial activities to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Evaluate situations related to revenue audits and determine appropriate actions.
- Maintain accurate departmental records and reports.
- Advise guests and team members about company facilities and special events.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of previous audit, professional accounting, and/or gaming operations experience.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to operate 10-key by touch.
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and policies.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
Nice-to-haves
- Associate's degree in accounting or related field.
- Experience in a gaming or casino environment.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
