About the position

The Business Manager role within the Trusted Mission Processing Finance team at Collins Mission Systems involves partnering with the Associate Director to ensure financial and business goals are met. This position requires proactive management, team leadership, and analytical recommendations to drive successful results within the Profit and Loss (P&L) framework. The role emphasizes leading a team of analysts, developing financial recommendations, and supporting program management in assessing risks and opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Execution including EACs, Risk and Opportunity management, EVM, Gate 5s, Funding and Working Capital Management, and process improvements.
  • Using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to manage program cost and schedule performance.
  • Monthly forecasting of Bookings, Sales, Profit, and Cash.
  • Construction of the business' Long-Range Plan (LRP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Proposals including development, strategy, ROI analysis, and Gate 4 approvals.
  • Balance sheet management, working with the team on unbilled and quarterly reporting.
  • Building and managing a team of analysts.
  • Support Program Management in assessing program risks and opportunities.
  • Continuously look for improvements to processes and forecasting accuracy.
  • Ad hoc tasks in support of the business' growth and execution objectives.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience of applied Earned Value Management principles with DOD reporting requirements, including scheduling fundamentals and system tool usage.
  • Financial and program controls experience.
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Financial controls experience relative to multiple contract types.
  • Understanding of RTX financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Experience with proposal development and business case analysis.
  • Experience with key finance tools including Analysis for Office, APEX, PMX, and PRISM.
  • Experience in a supervisory or management role.
