About the position

The Finance Business Operations Analyst for Server Finance at Meta is responsible for driving the server fleet component inventory strategy and managing cost forecasts. This role requires a long-term perspective on business problems, balancing support for business partners with the sustainability of Meta's resources. The analyst will serve as a financial adviser, ensuring that cost trends and drivers are well understood and that accurate forecasts are developed to support decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Driving server fleet component inventory strategy by assessing business decisions around component inventory purchases.
  • Owning server rack cost forecasts, requiring an understanding of server components, supplier ecosystems, and market dynamics.
  • Managing decisions around server component inventory positions by collaborating with business partners to understand lead times, financial risks, and supply-demand dynamics.
  • Forecasting the outlook for server component costs quarterly by analyzing market conditions such as supply and demand, pricing elasticity, and deals.
  • Ensuring cost trends and drivers are understood through regular reporting and analysis, developing accurate forecasts to drive accountability.
  • Developing tools to automate and streamline reporting, creating financial KPIs/metrics for business partners.
  • Presenting value analysis and recommendations to stakeholders across product, business, and finance.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in finance, business strategy, or a related function.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related discipline.
  • Experience manipulating large data sets and working with system and analytics tools (e.g., Hyperion, SQL) to derive business insights.
  • Experience in applicable accounting concepts and financial planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Dashboarding skills (e.g., Tableau).
  • Experience building relationships and communicating with stakeholders across all levels and functions.
  • Experience working in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience synthesizing strategic business insights and problem-solving.
  • Experience partnering with engineering functions.
  • Knowledge of server component technology (CPU, DRAM, SSD, HDD, etc.).
