About the position

The Finance Business Partner to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) will play a critical role in providing financial insights, analysis, and strategic support to the IT Department, as well as Security and Innovation teams. This position will act as a trusted advisor to the CIO, ensuring that financial considerations are integrated into the decision-making process and that the IT department operates within budgetary constraints while achieving its strategic objectives. The role requires collaboration with the CIO and IT leadership team to develop and manage the IT budget, forecast, and long-term financial plans. Additionally, the Finance Business Partner will provide financial insights and recommendations to support IT strategic initiatives, including technology investments, cost optimization, and project prioritization. The Finance Business Partner will also be responsible for tracking and analyzing IT financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. This includes partnering with the IT department to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure efficient allocation of resources. The role involves preparing and presenting financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the CIO and other stakeholders, as well as assessing financial risks associated with IT projects and initiatives and developing mitigation strategies. Collaboration with other finance team members, procurement, and other departments is essential to ensure alignment and effective communication, while also ensuring adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CIO and IT leadership team to develop and manage the IT budget, forecast, and long-term financial plans.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support IT strategic initiatives, including technology investments, cost optimization, and project prioritization.
  • Track and analyze IT financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with the IT department to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the CIO and other stakeholders.
  • Assess financial risks associated with IT projects and initiatives and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with other finance team members, procurement, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in finance, with a focus on financial planning and analysis, preferably within the IT or technology sector.
  • Prior experience working as finance business partner to senior leader essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of IT financial management and technology investments.
  • Experience with Anaplan desirable but not essential.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
