The Chief of Staff team at Morgan Stanley plays a crucial role in supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) by engaging in strategic activities that ensure the CFO is well-informed and prepared for various engagements. This team is responsible for driving transparency and connecting the dots across Finance leadership, which includes organizing Finance Management Committee meetings and officer-level calls. The position is highly project-oriented, requiring a candidate who is strategic, organized, and meticulous about documentation and data accuracy. A successful candidate will have a strong familiarity with the financial services industry, be self-motivated, outgoing, and capable of working autonomously. This role offers excellent exposure to the Finance division and the broader financial industry. As a Director, the individual will focus on maximizing the efficiency of the CFO and engaging in strategic value-added activities. This includes leading and executing special projects initiated by the team or the CFO, managing strategic initiatives, and ensuring successful delivery of key projects. The Director will work closely with firmwide teams to anticipate future requests and educate the larger team on Firm and Finance initiatives. Additionally, the role involves developing interesting non-administrative agenda items for team meetings and summarizing key events, research reports, and articles that may be relevant to the CFO and the Finance team. Core responsibilities include managing the CFO's calendar and tracking bi-weekly emails, maximizing travel and site visit schedules, identifying and vetting internal and external meeting opportunities, and preparing briefings for the CFO's meetings with clients and vendors. The Director will also be responsible for preparing talking points, communications, reference data, and PowerPoint presentations for various engagements, as well as collaborating with Corporate Communications and Investor Relations to stay updated on media, investors, and regulatory matters.
