About the position

The Finance Controller position at TENICA and Associates LLC is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company. This includes producing financial reports, maintaining accounting records, and implementing controls and budgets to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with accounting standards. The role requires a strong background in accounting and finance, along with the ability to manage a team and coordinate with external auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Manage and coordinate with outsourced functions
  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
  • Oversee and assist with payroll processing
  • Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
  • Provide for a system of management cost reports
  • Provide financial analyses as needed, particularly for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Microsoft Excel
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred
  • TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph required
