About the position

The Controller at DCCCA plays a crucial role in assisting the Director of Finance with the management of accounting and financial procedures. This position focuses on ensuring accurate financial data for effective business operations, implementing accounting systems, and maintaining internal controls. The Controller supervises accounting staff, oversees financial reporting, and ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations while promoting collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Finance with operating and accounting procedures.
• Implement processes associated with the accounting and financial reporting system.
• Supervise accounting and finance staff.
• Maintain accounting policy and procedure manuals and internal controls.
• Review and reconcile documentation of business transactions.
• Prepare or review financial statements and management reports.
• Develop efficient grant budget monitoring processes.
• Analyze financial data to recommend improvements.
• Oversee medical billing and child welfare billing functions.
• Prepare written financial reports for the board of directors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Management experience required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
• Non-profit accounting experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Federal grant administration experience preferred.
