About the position

The Finance Data Analyst will create and manage business intelligence (BI) and analytics solutions that transform data into actionable insights for the Financial team. This role involves acquiring, processing, and summarizing data to provide reports, summaries, and visualizations that enhance understanding and efficiency in operations and financials. The analyst will collaborate with department managers to design and deliver relevant metrics and reports from various systems and databases.

Responsibilities

  • Work with LME business units to understand business needs and develop business intelligence solutions.
  • Conduct interviews and meetings with key stakeholders to clarify business issues and underlying causes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business processes and operations to ensure accuracy of business requirements.
  • Write reports and queries using MS Access and/or BI applications, working with ERP LN, LINVENT, LISA, and other tools.
  • Coordinate and assist with the enhancement of existing cubes, reports, and dashboards.
  • Design and assist with the development of monthly management reports and financial dashboards for Senior Management.
  • Work with Financial departments to design and coordinate development of BI reports and data mining for strategic performance indicators.
  • Ensure consistency amongst divisions and implement improvements to data quality and reliability.
  • Identify training opportunities based on errors detected in the system and communicate with the Controller.
  • Act as a liaison between developers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and satisfaction with solutions.
  • Prepare and diagram detailed work instructions for all designed and developed BI reports.
  • Serve as a liaison between Finance and the IT department for reporting topics.
  • Responsible for some ERP maintenance and configuration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office products such as SharePoint, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Business Intelligence and reporting skills using SQL, T-SQL, and/or PL-SQL.
  • Experience with Power BI and familiarity with large scale ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in data analysis and decision-making abilities.
