About the position

The Finance Data Governance function is dedicated to providing accurate, trusted, and consistent data and reporting, linking data to strategic goals to enhance financial decision-making. The Finance Data Governance Sr. Analyst will play a crucial role in maintaining and advancing the governance processes surrounding finance data, driving core initiatives to shape the Finance Data Governance program. This position requires a candidate with a strong background in data management and an appreciation for leading standards related to quality, compliance, and controls. The successful candidate will leverage their knowledge and experience to contribute to the development and maintenance of effective finance data governance processes across the entire finance data and reporting landscape. In this role, the Finance Data Governance Sr. Analyst will be expected to demonstrate a foundational level of data literacy, which includes the ability to read, write, and communicate data in context. This entails understanding data sources, constructs, analytical methods, and techniques, as well as the ability to articulate the use case, application, and resulting value of data. Additionally, the role requires a solid understanding of financial management fundamentals, including financial statements, planning, and performance management processes. A key aspect of this position is the ability to work cross-functionally, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and effectively communicate with all levels of teammates, including leadership. The Finance Data Governance Sr. Analyst will support the development of data governance strategies and processes related to finance data and reporting. This individual will help ensure adherence to broader Enterprise Data Governance principles and protocols, successfully activating these within the Finance function. Furthermore, the analyst will be instrumental in developing and maintaining policy documentation that anchors the Finance organization to clear standards and aligns with the finance data governance framework.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of data governance strategies and processes associated with finance data and reporting.
  • Facilitate adherence to broader Enterprise Data Governance principles and protocols within the Finance function.
  • Develop and maintain policy documentation that aligns with the finance data governance framework.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Planning & Analysis teams and Technology partners to execute key finance data governance initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including leadership, to ensure understanding and engagement in governance processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Strategy / Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of work experience in Data Governance, Analytics, Finance, IS Management, or a related function.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and/or supporting data governance initiatives and standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate to leadership.
  • Experience with transformational projects and delivering results (e.g., quality, time, change adoption).
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage various priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong desire to learn and continuously improve.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in SAP, Cognos and/or other business intelligence tool(s).
  • Data governance certification (e.g., CDMP, DGoogle Cloud Platform, etc.).
