About the position

The Finance Data Warehouse Lead at Mizuho is responsible for driving and supporting data warehousing initiatives within the Finance and Treasury IT team. This role involves leading the design, development, and maintenance of the financial data warehouse, ensuring it meets the analytical and reporting needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial data management and data engineering, with a focus on optimizing data processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the financial data warehouse using firm technologies (e.g. DataBricks, Snowflake).
  • Collaborate with business to gather requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.
  • Optimize ETL processes for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
  • Implement best practices for data governance, quality, and security within the data warehouse.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Create and maintain documentation for data architecture, processes, and workflows.
  • Train and mentor team members on firm's database technologies and data warehousing best practices.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data technologies, particularly related to financial analytics.

Requirements

  • Subject Matter Expertise in financial data processing
  • 10+ years with IT Financial systems (ERP, data warehouses, reporting)
  • 10+ years experience with data warehouse technologies (e.g. SQL Server, DataBricks) with integrations with external applications and platforms
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science/Engineering or similar field

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling including ETL processes
  • Experience in financial reporting, analytics, and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik)
  • Knowledge and experience working with medium to large banking firms
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data storage solutions
  • Experience with APIs developed with programming languages (e.g. Java, Scala, Python)
