About the position

The Finance Director at Oxford College of Emory University serves as the principal financial officer for the division, overseeing financial planning, accounting activities, and potentially human resources and operational functions. The Finance Director will analyze financial trends, prepare executive summaries, and develop fiscal policies to support the organization's financial viability.

Responsibilities

  • Directs financial planning and accounting activities for the division.
  • Provides leadership in long-range financial planning, trending, and budgeting.
  • Analyzes and presents financial trends and generates executive summaries of financial reports.
  • Prepares recommendations for budget utilization.
  • Ensures integrity and accuracy of financial information and reporting.
  • Develops short and long-term financial goals and implements fiscal policies.
  • Assesses cash needs and manages cash flow.
  • Oversees and manages special projects.
  • Finalizes budgets and conducts feasibility analyses.
  • Prepares financial sections for various reports.
  • Evaluates and recommends funding levels for business operations.
  • Monitors and facilitates action plans for deficit accounts.
  • Tracks funds flow, cash reserves, and capital equipment funding.
  • Researches and forecasts financial impacts of program changes.
  • Prepares materials to keep leadership informed about financial affairs.
  • Collaborates with others to facilitate projects and ensure timelines are met.
  • Reviews financial and statistical reports and recommends actions.
  • Establishes relationships with banks, auditors, and other constituents.
  • May represent the organization in external financial activities.
  • Develops operational and statistical reports.
  • May hire, train, and supervise staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business management, or a related field.
  • Seven years of professional experience in accounting, finance, project management, or strategic planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
