About the position

The Finance Director for Supply Chain at Woodward, Inc. is responsible for creating and implementing financial plans that align with the overall business strategy. This role involves forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis to identify areas of improvement within the supply chain. The Finance Director partners with the Business Segment Supply Chain Vice President to drive performance on key cost and productivity metrics, including material and logistic costs, working capital, and inventory management. This position plays a crucial role in shaping strategic decisions and establishing standard processes while strengthening financial internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial data, tools, and analysis to help supply chain make informed decisions and plans aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Develop tools to evaluate total cost of ownership to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Provide financial insights to shape and support strategic decision-making in partnership with supply chain teams.
  • Track inventory initiatives to improve inventory turns and cash flow by creating relevant metrics and action plans.
  • Ensure all financial reporting is accurate, actionable, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Global Finance to influence decisions based on credibility.
  • Identify and assess financial risks that could impact the organization and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Manage direct reports, overseeing hiring, training, and development of finance professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business (preferably in Accounting or Finance)
  • CPA or MBA required
  • 5+ years of financial leadership experience
  • 7-10 years of experience in a supply chain finance role or similar role within manufacturing
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze complex financial data and identify trends and patterns
  • Ability to think strategically and develop effective financial strategies
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, cost accounting, contract manufacturing, logistics, inventory, and procurement
  • Ability to prepare accurate and timely financial reports
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets and forecasts
  • Ability to identify and manage financial risks
  • Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate a team
  • Effective communication and influence skills with stakeholders
  • Proficiency in financial software and technology, such as Power BI.
