About the position

The City of McCall, Idaho, is seeking a Finance Director to oversee all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, and financial policy management. This role is crucial for providing financial administration and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while managing the City's budget and assets. The Finance Director will work closely with the City Manager and supervise subordinate employees, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and effective financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise all City activities related to finance, accounting, and budgeting.
• Provide financial administration and accounting services for the City's accounts and assets.
• Manage the City's budget and oversee annual audits.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.
• Perform complex accounting procedures and develop the annual budget.
• Administer audit functions and manage banking, investment, and debt policies.
• Provide financial reports and assistance to City departments.
• Maintain financial records and offer guidance on finance expectations and policies.

Requirements

• Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• At least seven (7) years of financial management experience.
• At least five (5) years of supervisory experience, preferably with a government organization.
• Certified Government Accountant or Certified Public Accountant preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a thorough background investigation.
