About the position

The Director of Finance position is a senior-level role within a mid-sized Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company located in Culver City, CA. This role is designed for an experienced Sales or Commercial Finance Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career. The Director of Finance will be instrumental in driving profitability and will oversee various financial functions including sales monitoring, customer and pricing analysis, and program strategy development. In this role, the Director of Finance will be responsible for developing and executing the financial strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives. This includes providing strategic financial insights to senior leadership to foster business growth and profitability. The Director will lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes, ensuring that the organization meets or exceeds its financial targets. Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing pricing strategies that optimize profitability while maintaining a competitive market position. The Director of Finance will analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demand to inform pricing decisions and will work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure that pricing strategies support commercial goals. Leading the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function, the Director will prepare financial reports, conduct variance analysis, and track key performance indicators (KPIs). Furthermore, the role requires identifying and evaluating financial risks and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to the executive team, and supporting business case development for new investments, partnerships, and acquisitions. The Director will also be responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls is essential, as is managing financial risks such as currency fluctuations and market volatility. Responsibilities

  • Partner with commercial teams to provide financial guidance on pricing, contracts, and negotiations.
  • Develop financial models to assess the impact of pricing changes, new product launches, and other commercial initiatives.
  • Support business case development for new investments, partnerships, and acquisitions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field.
  • 10+ years of finance experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience managing staff.
  • Must have sales and/or commercial finance experience.
