About the position

The Finance Director will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of a growing Westside startup. This hands-on position requires a strong foundation in finance and accounting, along with tech experience. The Finance Director will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for managing the budgeting process, cash flow, financial analysis, and compliance, while also mentoring team members and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to create accurate budgets.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting to ensure financial resources meet obligations and growth targets.
• Analyze variances between actuals and budget, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, including new product launches and market expansion.
• Assist in developing and evaluating business cases for investments and acquisitions.
• Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to set financial goals and KPIs, tracking progress and making adjustments as necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Prepare and present financial statements to the executive team and board of directors.
• Coordinate annual audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
• Evaluate and implement accounting systems to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Develop and implement financial policies and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 10+ years of finance experience.
• Must have tech experience.
• Strong foundational background in finance.
