About the position

The Finance Director will oversee all accounting activities for the LA Conservation Corps, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls while leading a team of finance professionals. The Finance Director will also collaborate with senior management and the Board of Directors to provide insights into financial operations and support the organization's mission of creating equitable opportunities for young people.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting activities and ensure compliance with GAAP standards.
• Design and maintain accounting information systems to produce timely financial data.
• Establish and monitor internal controls for accurate accounting and reporting.
• Lead Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and manage related staff.
• Prepare organizational cash flow forecasting in partnership with leadership.
• Lead the annual audit process and maintain relationships with external auditors.
• Support the CEO and CAO in engaging the Board of Directors' Finance Committee.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax reporting requirements.
• Supervise subordinate managers and build a highly effective finance team.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial data and present reports to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• At least five years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Business Administration or CPA.
• Significant experience with non-profit accounting systems and fund accounting.
• Working knowledge of Questica budgeting software and Sage Intacct accounting system.
